Blondie Batter

Miso-Caramel Sauce

Method

Blondie Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Blondie Batter

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in both sugars until combined. Allow to cool slightly before adding eggs and vanilla, mixing until smooth. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, oats, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Pour the batter into the skillet.

Miso-Caramel Sauce Preparation

  1. 2

    Prepare the Miso-Caramel Sauce

In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the sugar until it turns a golden brown color. Carefully add the heavy cream and stir until smooth. Remove from heat and whisk in the miso paste and butter until fully combined. Set aside.

Baking

  1. 3

    Bake the Blondies

Place the skillet with the batter in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.

Serving

  1. 4

    Serve

Cut the blondies into squares and serve warm topped with a drizzle of miso-caramel sauce, a sprinkle of bubu arare, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
