For the Ribs

Method

Prepare the Ribs

  1. 1

    Season the Ribs

Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). Rub the baby back ribs with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 2

    Wrap in Foil

Wrap the seasoned ribs tightly in aluminum foil and place them on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until tender.

Make the Mongolian Sauce

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a saucepan, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.

  2. 4

    Simmer the Sauce

Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.

Finish the Ribs

  1. 5

    Glaze the Ribs

Remove the ribs from the oven and carefully unwrap them. Brush a generous amount of the Mongolian sauce over the ribs.

  2. 6

    Broil

Place the glazed ribs under the broiler for 5-7 minutes, until the sauce is caramelized and bubbly.

  3. 7

    Serve

Let the ribs rest for a few minutes before slicing them. Garnish with white sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
