Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cleaning the Octopus

Start by cleaning the fresh octopus. Remove the beak and innards, and rinse thoroughly under cold water.

  2. 2

    Cooking the Octopus

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the cleaned octopus and cook for about 30-40 minutes until tender. Check doneness with a fork.

  3. 3

    Cooling Down

Once cooked, remove the octopus from the pot and let it cool slightly before slicing.

Grilling

  1. 4

    Prepping for Grill

Preheat the grill to medium heat. Once cooled, slice the octopus into tentacles.

  2. 5

    Marinating

In a bowl, mix olive oil, minced garlic, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Add the octopus tentacles and coat well. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes.

  3. 6

    Grilling

Place the marinated octopus on the grill. Grill for about 3-4 minutes on each side until nicely charred.

Serving

  1. 7

    Finishing Touch

Remove from the grill and squeeze fresh lemon juice over the grilled octopus. Garnish with chopped parsley.

  2. 8

    Serving

Serve hot as an appetizer or main dish with your choice of sides.
