Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, mix the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; it's okay if there are a few lumps.

  4. 4

    Add Chocolate Chips

Fold in the chocolate chips gently into the batter.

Cooking

  1. 5

    Preheat and Cook

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with butter or cooking spray. Pour 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake onto the skillet. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Serve

Serve warm with whipped cream and maple syrup on top.
