Chicken and Waffles

Misoyaki Charred Bok Choy

XO Butter

Kewpie Mayo & Calamansi Ponzu

Method

Preparing the Chicken

    Marinate the Chicken

    In a bowl, combine soy sauce, mirin, and sake. Add the chicken thighs and marinate for at least 30 minutes.

    Cook the Chicken

    Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Grill the marinated chicken for about 7-8 minutes per side or until cooked through and charred.

Making Waffles

    Prepare Waffle Batter

    In a bowl, mix waffle mix, eggs, milk, and melted butter until smooth. Preheat a waffle iron.

    Cook Waffles

    Pour batter into the preheated waffle iron and cook according to the manufacturer's instructions until golden brown.

Charred Bok Choy

    Prepare and Cook Bok Choy

    In a bowl, mix miso paste with olive oil. Brush the mixture onto the bok choy and grill for about 4-5 minutes until charred.

    Add Toppings

    Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds over charred bok choy before serving.

Making XO Butter

    Combine Ingredients

    In a bowl, mix softened butter with XO sauce until well combined. Refrigerate until firm.

Kewpie Mayo & Calamansi Ponzu

    Mix Sauce

    In a small bowl, combine Kewpie mayo, calamansi juice, soy sauce, and chili flakes. Stir until smooth.
