Chowder Base

Method

Chowder Preparation

  1. 1

    Sauté Vegetables

In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion, celery, and garlic. Sauté until the onions are translucent, about 5 minutes.

  2. 2

    Add Potatoes and Broth

Add diced potatoes and broth to the pot. Bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer. Cook for about 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.

  3. 3

    Add Corn and Clams

Stir in corn and clams. Continue to simmer for another 5 minutes.

  4. 4

    Finish the Chowder

Stir in the heavy cream, thyme, parsley, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through. Adjust seasoning as needed.

Garlic Bread Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare Garlic Butter

In a bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley until well combined.

  2. 6

    Prepare the Bread

Slice the baguette in half lengthwise and spread the garlic butter mixture evenly on both halves.

  3. 7

    Bake

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the bread on a baking sheet and bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
