Method
Cooking the Pasta

Boil the Pasta
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the cavatappi pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and set aside.
Making the Marinara Sauce

Prepare the Marinara
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Stir in crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens. Stir in the fresh basil just before serving.
Butter & Parmesan

Prepare Butter & Parmesan
In a separate pan, melt butter over low heat. Once melted, add the cooked pasta and toss to coat. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and add black pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
