Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Spaghetti

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Ragù Preparation

  1. 2

    Prepare the Ragù

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

  2. 3

    Cook the Sausage

Add the Jake's Country Sausage to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 7-10 minutes.

  3. 4

    Add Tomatoes and Seasoning

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

  4. 5

    Finish with Basil

Add the chopped fresh basil leaves to the ragù and stir well. Remove from heat.

Assembly and Serving

  1. 6

    Combine Pasta and Ragù

In a large serving bowl, combine the cooked spaghetti with the ragù. Toss gently to coat the pasta in the sauce.

  2. 7

    Add Toppings

Spoon dollops of ricotta cheese over the top of the pasta. Sprinkle breadcrumbs over the ricotta for added texture.

  3. 8

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish with additional fresh basil leaves and a drizzle of olive oil. Serve immediately.
