Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Grapes

Wash the Concord grapes under running water to remove any dirt or impurities. Remove the stems and set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Sugar Syrup

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let it cool.

  3. 3

    Blend the Grapes

In a blender or food processor, add the prepared Concord grapes. Blend until smooth. If you prefer a smoother texture, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the skins and seeds.

  4. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the blended grape mixture, cooled sugar syrup, and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. Mix well to combine.

Chilling and Freezing

  1. 5

    Chill the Mixture

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours or until it is thoroughly chilled.

  2. 6

    Freeze the Sorbet

Once chilled, pour the grape mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.

  3. 7

    Transfer to Freezer

Transfer the sorbet to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve the Sorbet

Scoop the sorbet into bowls or cones. If desired, drizzle with grape jelly and garnish with fresh mint leaves for a refreshing touch.
