Cook the Protein

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground chicken or beef until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Add Seasoning

Add the taco seasoning to the cooked meat and stir well. Add about 1/4 cup of water and let it simmer for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Assemble the Salad

Combine Base Ingredients

In a large salad bowl, add the mixed greens and tortilla strips, tossing gently to combine.

Layer with Toppings

On top of the mixed greens, layer the refried beans, seasoned meat, diced tomatoes, black olives, and avocado slices.

Sprinkle the mixed cheese over the top and add dollops of sour cream as desired.
