Housemade Chocolate Liqueur

Prepare the Chocolate Base
In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar, 1 cup of cocoa powder, and 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar and cocoa powder have dissolved completely and the mixture is smooth.

Add Flavorings
Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in 1 tsp of vanilla extract. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature.

Combine with Vodka
Once cooled, stir in 2 cups of vodka. Pour the mixture into a clean glass bottle, seal it tightly, and store it in a cool, dark place for at least 1 week to allow the flavors to meld.
Housemade Coffee Liqueur

Dissolve Sugar
In a separate saucepan, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar with 2 cups of freshly brewed strong coffee. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Add Vanilla and Vodka
Remove from heat, stir in 1 tsp of vanilla extract, and then add 1 cup of vodka. Mix well.

Bottle and Store
Pour the coffee liqueur into a clean glass bottle, seal it tightly, and allow it to cool. Store in a cool, dark place for at least 1 week.
For Serving

Prepare the Glass
Fill a glass with ice cubes to your liking.

Combine Liqueurs
In a cocktail shaker, combine equal parts of the housemade chocolate liqueur and the housemade coffee liqueur. Shake well.

Serve
Strain the liqueur mixture into the prepared glass over the ice. Garnish with dark chocolate shavings on top.
