Method

Prepare the Dry Ingredients

  1. 1

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and a pinch of salt until well combined.

Prepare the Wet Ingredients

  1. 2

    Whisk Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, beat the egg and then add the buttermilk and melted butter. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and well blended.

Combine Ingredients

  1. 3

    Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients

Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; some lumps are okay.

Cook the Pancake

  1. 4

    Heat the Pan

Heat a non-stick skillet or frying pan over medium heat. You can add a small amount of butter to grease the pan if desired.

  2. 5

    Pour the Batter

Once the skillet is hot, pour the pancake batter into the center of the skillet, using about half of the batter to make one large pancake.

  3. 6

    Cook the Pancake

Cook the pancake for about 2-3 minutes or until bubbles form on the surface. Flip it carefully using a spatula and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

Serve

  1. 7

    Add Toppings

Transfer the pancake to a plate and drizzle with maple syrup. Serve immediately and enjoy!
