Method

Juicing the Grapefruit

  1. 1

    Prepare the Grapefruit

Begin by washing the grapefruits under cool running water to remove any dirt or pesticides. Pat them dry with a clean towel.

  2. 2

    Cut the Grapefruit

Using a sharp knife, cut each grapefruit in half horizontally. Make sure to cut through the center of the fruit to maximize juice extraction.

  3. 3

    Juice the Grapefruit

Using a citrus juicer or a hand-held reamer, extract the juice from each grapefruit half into a bowl or measuring cup. If you prefer, you can also use a blender for a smoother consistency.

Mixing the Juice

  1. 4

    Add Sugar and Water

In a pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed grapefruit juice, sugar, and water. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved.

  2. 5

    Taste and Adjust

Taste the juice and adjust the sweetness by adding more sugar if desired. Stir again to ensure it is well mixed.

Serving the Juice

  1. 6

    Prepare Glasses

Fill serving glasses with ice cubes. This will keep the juice cold and refreshing.

  2. 7

    Pour the Juice

Pour the grapefruit juice mixture over the ice-filled glasses, filling them to the desired level.

  3. 8

    Garnish (Optional)

If desired, garnish each glass with a mint leaf and a slice of lemon for added flavor and presentation.

  4. 9

    Serve Immediately

Serve the refreshing grapefruit juice immediately to enjoy its tartness.
