Method

Preparing the Hot Chocolate Base

  1. 1

    Heat the Dairy

In a medium saucepan, combine the whole milk and heavy cream. Heat over medium heat until the mixture is warm but not boiling.

  2. 2

    Add Cocoa and Sugar

Whisk in the unsweetened cocoa powder and granulated sugar until fully dissolved and smooth. Continue to heat the mixture, stirring occasionally.

  3. 3

    Steep the Tea

Once the hot chocolate mixture is warm, add the Earl Grey tea bags. Allow to steep for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally to incorporate the flavors.

  4. 4

    Remove Tea Bags

After steeping, carefully remove the tea bags from the mixture and discard them. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Incorporating Bailey's

  1. 5

    Add Bailey's

Pour in the Bailey's Irish Cream to the hot chocolate base and stir until well combined. Heat for an additional 2-3 minutes, ensuring it is warm but not boiling.

Serving the Hot Chocolate

  1. 6

    Pour and Garnish

Ladle the hot chocolate into mugs. Top each serving with a generous dollop of whipped cream, and sprinkle with cocoa powder and chocolate shavings for an elegant finish.

  2. 7

    Enjoy

Serve immediately and enjoy your Earl Grey Hot Chocolate while it's warm!
