Melt the Butter
In a medium saucepan, melt 1 cup of unsalted butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- 3
Mix Sugars
Stir in 1.5 cups of granulated sugar and 0.5 cups of brown sugar into the melted butter until well combined.
- 4
Add Eggs and Vanilla
Add 4 large eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in 2 tsp of vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 0.5 cups of unsweetened cocoa powder, and 0.5 tsp of salt.
- 6
Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures
Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
- 7
Add Chocolate Chips
Fold in 1 cup of chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
