Main Ingredients
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Apples
Wash the apples thoroughly and remove any stems. Cut the apples into quarters, removing the seeds and any bad spots.
- 2
Juicing the Apples
Using a juicer or a food processor, extract the juice from the apple quarters. If using a food processor, strain the juice through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a large bowl.
- 3
Mixing the Ingredients
In a large pot, combine the apple juice, water, and granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. Add the cinnamon stick for flavor.
- 4
Fermentation
Once the mixture is cool, sprinkle the yeast over the top. Cover with a cloth and let it sit at room temperature for 24 hours.
- 5
Bottling
After 24 hours, pour the mixture into sterilized bottles or cans, leaving some space at the top. Seal tightly.
- 6
Carbonation
Let the bottled cider ferment in a cool, dark place for 1-2 weeks. Check for carbonation by gently squeezing the bottles.
- 7
Chill and Serve
Once carbonated, chill the cider in the refrigerator and serve cold. Enjoy your homemade Okanagan Premium Apple Cider!
