Cooking Instructions
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a bowl, combine buttermilk, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Add the bone-in chicken breast, making sure it is fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for best results.
- 2
Prepare the Dredging Mixture
In a shallow dish, add the all-purpose flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Mix well.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Dredge the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the buttermilk marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge the chicken in the flour mixture, ensuring it is fully coated.
- 5
Fry the Chicken
Carefully place the dredged chicken breast into the hot oil. Fry for about 7-10 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the coating is golden brown.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Once cooked, remove the chicken from the oil and place it on a wire rack or paper towel to drain excess oil. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving with your choice of 2 sides.
