Method

Preparing the Fries

  1. 1

    Cutting the Potatoes

Wash and peel the Russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick, to ensure they fry evenly.

  2. 2

    Soaking the Fries

Place the cut fries in a large bowl of cold water and soak for at least 30 minutes. This removes excess starch and helps achieve crispiness.

  3. 3

    Drying the Fries

After soaking, drain the fries and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel. Make sure they are as dry as possible to avoid steaming during frying.

  4. 4

    Heating the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer to ensure the correct temperature for frying.

  5. 5

    Frying the Fries

Carefully add the dried fries to the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Adding Toppings

  1. 6

    Tossing the Fries

In a large mixing bowl, add the hot, crispy fries. Drizzle with truffle oil and sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and grated Parmesan cheese.

  2. 7

    Finishing Touch

Toss the fries gently to ensure they are evenly coated with the truffle oil and cheese. Add chopped fresh parsley for garnish and additional flavor.
