Toppings

Method

Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Prepare Ingredients

Rinse and drain the black beans, then mash them in a large bowl. Cook the quinoa according to package instructions and let it cool.

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

Add the mashed black beans, cooked quinoa, oats, finely chopped bell pepper, minced garlic, finely chopped onion, cumin, salt, and black pepper into the bowl. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.

  3. 3

    Form Patties

Shape the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties. If the mixture is too wet, you can add a little more oats to help bind.

  4. 4

    Cook Patties

Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown.

Toppings

  1. 5

    Prepare Toppings

Slice the avocado and tomato. Wash and dry the lettuce leaves.

  2. 6

    Assemble Burgers

Place each cooked patty on a whole grain burger bun, top with lettuce, tomato slices, and avocado. Close the burger with the top half of the bun.

Fries

  1. 7

    Prepare Potatoes

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Cut the potatoes into fry shapes and place them in a bowl.

  2. 8

    Season Fries

Drizzle olive oil over the potatoes, sprinkle with salt and paprika, and toss until evenly coated.

  3. 9

    Bake Fries

Spread the seasoned potatoes on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until they are crispy, flipping halfway through.
