Burger Ingredients

Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Onions

Slice the medium onion into thin rings.

  2. 2

    Caramelize the Onions

In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and a pinch of salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions are golden brown and caramelized, about 15-20 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine 1 pound of ground beef with 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. Mix well and divide the mixture into 4 equal portions, shaping each into a patty.

  4. 4

    Cook the Patties

In the same skillet used for the onions, increase the heat to medium-high. Add the patties and cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place 2 slices of American cheese on each patty. Cook for another 3-4 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to your desired doneness.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half. You may toast them lightly on a separate skillet if desired.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Burger

Spread a generous amount of garlic aioli on the bottom half of each bun. Place one cheesy patty on each bun, followed by a layer of caramelized onions, shredded lettuce, tomato slices, and pickle slices. Top with the other half of the bun.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the RR Burger immediately with your choice of sides.
