Irish Coffee Ingredients
Method
Irish Coffee Preparation
- 1
Brew the Coffee
Begin by brewing a cup of strong house brewed coffee. Ensure it's piping hot for the best flavor.
- 2
Mix in the Whiskey and Sugar
In a heatproof glass or mug, combine the hot brewed coffee with 1 oz of Irish whiskey and 1 tsp of demerara sugar. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- 3
Prepare the Cream
In a separate bowl, lightly whip 2 tablespoons of heavy cream until it thickens slightly but remains pourable. It should not be whipped to soft peaks.
- 4
Assemble the Irish Coffee
Carefully pour the lightly whipped cream over the back of a spoon so it floats on top of the coffee mixture. This creates a beautiful layered effect.
- 5
Garnish
Finally, garnish your Irish coffee with 3 coffee beans placed on top of the cream for an aromatic touch.
