Fried Chicken Sandwich
Method
Fried Chicken Sandwich
- 1
Marinating the Chicken
In a large bowl, combine the boneless chicken thighs and buttermilk. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
- 2
Preparing the Breading
In a shallow dish, whisk together the all-purpose flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper until well combined.
- 3
Frying the Chicken
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the buttermilk and let excess liquid drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, ensuring an even coating. Carefully place the breaded chicken in the hot oil and fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- 4
Making the Spicy Remoulade
In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, sriracha sauce, and lemon juice. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- 5
Assembling the Sandwich
Toast the brioche buns lightly. Spread a generous amount of spicy remoulade on the bottom half of each bun. Place the fried chicken on top, followed by the butter lettuce leaves and pickle slices. Top with the other half of the bun.
