Juice Base

Method

Preparation of Juice Base

  1. 1

    Tomato Juice Preparation

Wash and chop the tomatoes into quarters. Place them in a blender and blend until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds and skin if desired.

  2. 2

    Apple Juice Preparation

Core the apples and chop them into pieces (no need to peel). Blend until smooth and strain to separate the juice from the pulp.

  3. 3

    Cranberry Juice Preparation

Rinse the cranberries and place them in a pot with 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to simmer for 10-15 minutes until the cranberries burst. Strain through a fine mesh sieve to extract the juice.

  4. 4

    Vegetable Blend Preparation for V-8

Combine chopped vegetables such as celery, carrots, spinach, and bell peppers in a blender. Blend until smooth, adding water as necessary to achieve a juice-like consistency.

Mixing and Flavoring

  1. 5

    Combine Juices

In a large pitcher, combine the prepared tomato juice, apple juice, cranberry juice, or vegetable blend (V-8). Stir well to integrate flavors.

  2. 6

    Add Flavor Enhancers

Add lemon juice, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper to the mixed juice. Adjust seasonings to taste. If desired, add fresh basil leaves for an aromatic touch.

  3. 7

    Chill and Serve

Refrigerate the juice for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld. Serve in chilled glasses over ice, if desired.
