Beef Filling

Cheese Mixture

Method

Tomato Sauce Preparation

  1. 1

    Heat Olive Oil

Add the minced garlic and chopped onion, sauté until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.

  2. 2

    Combine Ingredients

Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low and let it cook for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Beef Filling Preparation

  1. 3

    Brown Ground Beef

Season with salt, black pepper, dried oregano, and dried basil. Cook until the beef is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.

Cheese Mixture Preparation

  1. 4

    Mix Cheese Mixture

Stir until well blended and set aside.

Lasagna Assembly

  1. 5

    Preheat Oven

Start by boiling lasagna noodles in salted water according to package instructions until al dente, then drain.

  2. 6

    Layer Sauce

Place 3 sheets of lasagna noodles over the sauce, followed by half of the beef filling, half of the cheese mixture, and a third of the mozzarella cheese.

  3. 7

    Build Layers

Finish with a final layer of noodles, the remaining sauce, mozzarella, and the remaining grated Parmesan cheese.

  4. 8

    Bake Lasagna

Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

  5. 9

    Rest and Serve

This allows the layers to set and makes it easier to cut.
