Preparation Steps

   Gather Ingredients

   Collect all the ingredients and tools needed for the Negroni cocktail, including gin, Campari, sweet vermouth, an orange for garnish, and a mixing glass.

   Prepare the Glass

   Fill an old-fashioned glass with ice cubes to chill while you prepare the cocktail.

   Mix the Cocktail

   In a mixing glass, combine 1 oz of gin, 1 oz of Campari, and 1 oz of sweet vermouth. Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir gently for about 20 seconds until well chilled.

   Strain the Mixture

   Remove the ice from the chilled old-fashioned glass. Use a strainer to pour the mixed cocktail into the glass.

   Express the oils from a slice of orange peel over the cocktail by twisting it and then place it in the glass as a garnish. Serve immediately.
