Espresso Preparation
1. Grind the Coffee Beans
Using a burr grinder, grind 18 grams of espresso coffee beans to a fine consistency suitable for espresso brewing. The grind should be similar to table salt.
2. Prepare the Espresso Machine
Turn on your espresso machine and allow it to heat up for at least 15 minutes. This will ensure that the water is at the right temperature for brewing.
3. Tamp the Ground Coffee
Place the ground coffee into the portafilter. Use a tamper to press the coffee evenly and firmly, creating a smooth and level surface.
4. Brew the Espresso
Lock the portafilter into the espresso machine. Start the brewing process, and allow the espresso to extract for about 25-30 seconds. You should see a rich, dark liquid with a golden crema on top.
5. Serve
