Method

Preparing the Balsamic Reduction

  1. 1

    Make the Reduction

In a small saucepan, combine balsamic vinegar and honey. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the mixture has thickened and reduced by half. Let it cool.

Preparing the Topping

  1. 2

    Prepare the Tomato Mixture

Dice the tomatoes and place them in a mixing bowl. Finely chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the bowl. Mince the garlic cloves and mix everything together. Season with salt and black pepper, then set aside to let the flavors meld.

Toasting the Bread

  1. 3

    Toast the Baguette

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices. Brush both sides of each slice with olive oil. Arrange the slices on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

Assembling the Bruschetta

  1. 4

    Assemble the Dish

Remove the toasted baguette slices from the oven. Top each slice generously with the tomato mixture. Drizzle the balsamic reduction over the top of each bruschetta. Serve immediately and enjoy!
