Prepare Burger Patty
- 1
Drain and Rinse Beans
Drain and rinse the canned black beans under cold water. Set aside.
- 2
Mash Beans
In a large bowl, mash the black beans with a fork or potato masher until mostly smooth, leaving some chunks for texture.

- 4
Form Patties
Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 1/4 pound each.
- 5
Chill Patties
Place the formed patties on a plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
Cook Patties
- 6
Heat Oil
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

Once the oil is hot, carefully add the veggie patties to the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until crispy and golden brown.
