Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cut the Mozzarella

Cut the mozzarella cheese into sticks, about 1/2 inch wide and 4 inches long.

  2. 2

    Set up Breading Station

In three separate shallow bowls, place the flour in the first bowl, beaten eggs in the second, and a mixture of breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in the third.

Breading Process

  1. 3

    Coat the Cheese

Take a mozzarella stick and coat it in flour, shaking off the excess. Then dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off, and finally coat it in the breadcrumb mixture. Press the breadcrumbs onto the cheese to ensure they adhere well.

  2. 4

    Repeat

Repeat the coating process for all the mozzarella sticks and set them on a plate. For extra crunch, you can double bread them by repeating the egg and breadcrumb steps once more.

Frying

  1. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Fry the Mozzarella Sticks

Carefully add the breaded mozzarella sticks to the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown, turning occasionally.

  3. 7

    Drain Excess Oil

Remove the fried mozzarella sticks with a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve with Marinara Sauce

Serve the hot mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce for dipping.
