Main Dish Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Season the pork ribs with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub the spices all over the ribs for an even coating.

  2. 2

    Bake the Ribs

Place the seasoned ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover with another piece of foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until tender.

  3. 3

    Glaze the Ribs

Remove the ribs from the oven, discard the top layer of foil, and brush a generous amount of BBQ sauce over the ribs. Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C) and return the ribs to the oven for an additional 15-20 minutes, until the sauce is caramelized.

Sides Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare Fresh-cut Fries

While the ribs are baking, wash and cut the potatoes into fry shapes. Heat oil in a deep fryer or a large pot to 350°F (175°C) and fry the potatoes in batches until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Drain on paper towels and season with salt.

  2. 5

    Bake the Potatoes

Wrap the baked potatoes in aluminum foil and place them in the oven alongside the ribs for the last hour of baking. They should be tender when done.

  3. 6

    Prepare Coleslaw

In a mixing bowl, combine shredded cabbage, carrots, and your choice of coleslaw dressing. Toss until the vegetables are well-coated.

  4. 7

    Prepare Butter and Sour Cream

Set out butter and sour cream for serving with the baked potatoes. You may also want to season the sour cream with salt and pepper to taste.

  5. 8

    Toast the Bread

Lightly toast the bread slices either in a toaster or on a skillet until golden brown.
