Cook the Hot Dogs
Boil or grill the hot dog sausages according to your preference until heated through, about 5-7 minutes.

Prepare the Hot Dog Buns
While the hot dogs are cooking, lightly toast the hot dog buns on a grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

Add Cheddar Cheese
Once the hot dogs are cooked, place each sausage into a toasted bun and top with shredded cheddar cheese. The heat from the sausage will melt the cheese slightly.

Add Chili
For chili dogs, after placing the hot dogs in the buns, generously spoon the warm chili over each sausage.

Prepare the Bacon
Cook the bacon slices in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 5-6 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

Place the crispy bacon slices on top of the hot dogs in their buns, either before or after adding other toppings.
