Burger Patties

Burger Assembly

Method

Burger Patties Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix and Form Patties

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 1 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Chill the Patties

Place the formed patties on a plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up before cooking.

Cooking the Burgers

  1. 3

    Preheat the Broiler

Preheat your broiler on high for about 10 minutes.

  2. 4

    Broil the Patties

Place the chilled patties on a broiler pan. Broil for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and broil for an additional 3-4 minutes on the other side, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of broiling, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and close the broiler door to melt the cheese.

Assembling the Burgers

  1. 6

    Prepare the Buns

While the burgers are broiling, lightly toast the burger buns under the broiler for about 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Build the Burgers

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a cheesy burger patty, a slice of tomato, pickles, and your desired amount of ketchup and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
