Method

Prepare the Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Form the Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until combined. Divide the mixture into four equal portions (about 4 ounces each) and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent bulging during cooking.

Cook the Bacon

  1. 2

    Fry the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon strips until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Turn occasionally for even cooking. Once cooked, transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.

Cook the Burgers

  1. 3

    Broil the Patties

Preheat your broiler on high. Place the formed patties on a broiler-safe pan. Broil for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adding a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty during the last minute to melt.

Assemble the Burgers

  1. 4

    Build Your Burger

To assemble, place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each burger bun. Add the broiled patty with melted cheese, followed by two slices of crispy bacon. Top with a slice of tomato, pickles, ketchup, and mustard to taste. Cover with the top half of the bun.

Serve

  1. 5

    Enjoy Your Burger

Serve immediately while hot, with extra condiments and sides like fries or onion rings if desired.
