Method
Preparation
- 1
Brown the Butter
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until it becomes golden brown and has a nutty aroma. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- 3
Combine Wet Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the browned butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix until smooth. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- 4
Combine All Ingredients
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the dark chocolate chips.
Baking
- 5
Prepare Baking Sheet
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 6
Scoop the Dough
Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- 7
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft. Remove from oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
