Cooking Instructions
- 1
Sauté the Aromatics
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté for about 5 minutes, or until the onions become translucent and fragrant.
- 2
Brown the Ground Beef
Add the 500 grams of ground beef to the skillet. Break it up with a spatula and cook until browned, about 8-10 minutes. Drain any excess fat if necessary.
- 3
Add the Tomatoes
Stir in the 400 grams of tomato purée and the 400 grams of diced tomatoes. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
- 4
Season the Sauce
Add 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, 1 teaspoon of dried basil, 0.5 teaspoon of red chili flakes, and 1 teaspoon of sugar to the sauce. Stir well to incorporate the seasonings.
- 5
Simmer
Lower the heat and let the sauce simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally. This allows the flavors to meld together.
- 6
Serve
Once the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency, remove it from heat. Serve hot over pasta, rice, or as a side for your favorite dishes.
