Method

Meatballs Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, egg, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.

  2. 2

    Form Meatballs

Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 2.5 cm in diameter, and place them on a plate.

  3. 3

    Cook Meatballs

In a large skillet over medium heat, add a tablespoon of olive oil. Once hot, add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.

Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Sauté Onions and Garlic

In the same skillet used for the meatballs, add another tablespoon of olive oil. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes.

  2. 5

    Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer.

  3. 6

    Combine Meatballs and Sauce

Return the browned meatballs to the skillet with the sauce. Cover and let simmer on low heat for 20 minutes.

  4. 7

    Finish with Fresh Basil

Just before serving, stir in the chopped fresh basil to the sauce.

Spaghetti Preparation

  1. 8

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring 4 liters of water to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt.

  2. 9

    Cook Spaghetti

Add spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

  3. 10

    Drain and Serve

Drain the spaghetti and serve immediately with the meatballs and sauce on top.
