Dough Preparation
- 1
Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Mix well.
- 3
Combine Ingredients
Once the yeast is activated, add it to the flour mixture along with olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- 4
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 5
Assembling the Pizza
- 6
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone (if using) inside to heat up.
- 7
Shape the Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer it to a pizza peel or baking sheet.
- 8
Spread Sauce
Spread the spicy marinara sauce evenly over the rolled-out dough.
- 9
Add Toppings
Layer the cooked Italian sausage, shredded grilled chicken, mozzarella, and provolone cheese on top of the sauce.
- 10
Add Spice
Sprinkle red pepper flakes over the toppings to add extra heat.
- 11
Bake the Pizza
Carefully slide the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or place the baking sheet in the oven. Bake for about 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- 12
Garnish and Serve
Remove the pizza from the oven, garnish with fresh basil leaves, slice, and serve hot.
