Muddle the Mint and Sugar
In a sturdy glass, add the fresh mint leaves and granulated sugar. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently crush the mint leaves with the sugar, releasing the mint's essential oils and flavor. Muddle for about 15 seconds.
