Dough

Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate the Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle active dry yeast on top and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Make the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let it Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Toppings Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare the Bacon

Cook the applewood smoked bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels. Once cool, chop into pieces.

  2. 6

    Slice the Vegetables

While the dough is rising, slice the fresh tomatoes and chop the roasted red peppers into bite-sized pieces.

  3. 7

    Prepare Cheeses

Crumble the mild goat cheese, and shred the mozzarella and provolone cheese.

Pizza Assembly

  1. 8

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat.

  2. 9

    Shape the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.

  3. 10

    Add Toppings

Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread the mozzarella and provolone cheeses evenly over the dough. Distribute the chopped bacon, roasted red peppers, and sliced tomatoes on top. Finally, crumble the goat cheese and sprinkle fresh basil leaves.

  4. 11

    Bake the Pizza

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  5. 12

    Season and Serve

Remove the pizza from the oven, season with black pepper to taste, slice, and serve hot.
