Method
Dough Preparation
- 1
Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- 2
Mix Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
- 3
Knead the Dough
Mix until a dough forms. Transfer to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 4
Rise the Dough
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Assembling the Pizza
- 5
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) or as high as it goes for best results.
- 6
Shape the Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a floured surface. Roll out the dough to your desired thickness.
- 7
Add Sauce and Toppings
Transfer the rolled dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread the spicy marinara sauce evenly over the dough. Sprinkle the Italian sausage and grilled chicken on top, followed by the mozzarella and provolone cheese.
- 8
Season the Pizza
Sprinkle red pepper flakes over the top for added spice.
- 9
Bake the Pizza
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
- 10
Garnish and Serve
Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh basil, slice, and serve hot.
