Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Fettuccine

In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Protein Preparation

  1. 2

    Cook the Chicken and Sausage

In a large skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Season the chicken with salt and pepper, then add to the skillet. Cook for 5-7 minutes on each side until cooked through. Remove from the skillet and let rest. In the same skillet, remove the casings from the Italian sausage and add the sausage meat. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon, about 5-6 minutes.

  2. 3

    Slice the Chicken

Once the chicken has rested, slice it into thin strips.

Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Make the Marinara Sauce

In the same skillet with the sausage, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes, sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for about 10 minutes.

  2. 5

    Combine Ingredients

Add the cooked fettuccine, sliced chicken, and chopped fresh basil to the sauce. Toss well to combine and heat through for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve

Plate the fettuccine diavolo and serve with your choice of house salad, Caesar salad, or soup on the side.
