Cooking the Pasta

Boil Water
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil over high heat.

Cook Fettuccine
Add the fettuccine pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

Drain Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside. Do not rinse.
Making the Alfredo Sauce

Melt Butter
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter.

Pour in Heavy Cream
Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring to combine with the butter and garlic.

Simmer Sauce
Bring the cream mixture to a gentle simmer and let it cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add Parmesan Cheese
Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until fully melted and the sauce is creamy. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Add the cooked fettuccine pasta to the Alfredo sauce in the skillet. Toss until the pasta is evenly coated with the sauce.

Garnish with chopped parsley, if desired, and serve immediately.
