Method

Cooking the Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Cook Fettuccine

Add the fettuccine pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

  3. 3

    Drain Pasta

Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside. Do not rinse.

Making the Alfredo Sauce

  1. 4

    Melt Butter

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter.

  2. 5

    Add Garlic

Add minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

  3. 6

    Pour in Heavy Cream

Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring to combine with the butter and garlic.

  4. 7

    Simmer Sauce

Bring the cream mixture to a gentle simmer and let it cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  5. 8

    Add Parmesan Cheese

Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until fully melted and the sauce is creamy. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
