Method

Cooking the Rice

  1. 1

    Rinse the Rice

Place the jasmine rice in a fine-mesh strainer and rinse under cold water for about 1-2 minutes until the water runs clear. This step helps remove excess starch.

  2. 2

    Cook the Rice

In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed jasmine rice and 2 cups of water. Bring it to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover with a lid, and simmer for about 15 minutes or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.

  3. 3

    Fluff the Rice

Once cooked, remove the saucepan from heat and let it sit, covered, for an additional 5 minutes. Then, fluff the rice with a fork to separate the grains.

Mixing Ingredients

  1. 4

    Add Olive Oil and Cilantro

In a large mixing bowl, combine the fluffed jasmine rice, chopped cilantro, and olive oil. Stir gently until the rice is well coated and the cilantro is evenly distributed throughout the rice.

Serving

  1. 5

    Serve

Transfer the cilantro rice to a serving platter or individual bowls. Enjoy it warm as a delicious side dish!
