Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add Flour

Once boiling, remove from heat and quickly stir in the flour until the mixture forms a ball.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Eggs

Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until smooth.

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

  1. 4

    Mix Cinnamon Sugar

In a shallow bowl, combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Set aside for coating the churros later.

Frying

  1. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Pipe the Dough

Using a piping bag fitted with a star tip, pipe strips of dough (about 6 inches long) into the hot oil.

  3. 7

    Fry Churros

Fry the churros until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Do not overcrowd the pot.

  4. 8

    Drain and Coat

Remove the churros from the oil and drain on paper towels. While still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
