Tiramisù Ingredients

Method

Tiramisù Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Coffee Mixture

Brew the espresso coffee and allow it to cool. You can add a splash of coffee liqueur if desired.

  2. 2

    Make the Cream Mixture

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and creamy. Add the mascarpone cheese and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, then gently fold it into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Tiramisù

Dip each ladyfinger into the cooled espresso coffee quickly, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Layer half of the soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a serving dish. Spread half of the cream mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining cream mixture.

  4. 4

    Chill and Serve

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. Before serving, sift cocoa powder over the top and garnish with chocolate shavings if desired.
