Preparation
- 1
Melt the Butter
In a medium saucepan, melt 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium heat.
- 2
Sauté Garlic
Once the butter is melted, add 2 minced garlic cloves to the saucepan and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn them.
- 3
Add Cream
Slowly pour in 1 cup of heavy cream while stirring continuously to combine with the melted butter and garlic.
- 4
Simmer the Sauce
Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, allowing it to thicken slightly for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 5
Incorporate Cheese
Gradually whisk in 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. If the sauce is too thick, you can add a bit more cream to reach your desired consistency.
- 6
Season the Sauce
Season with 0.5 tsp of salt and 0.25 tsp of black pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary.
- 7
Serve the Sauce
Remove the sauce from heat and it is ready to be served over your favorite pasta or used in other dishes.
