Method

Ice Cream Base

1

Prepare the Ice Cream Base

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until the sugar is fully dissolved.

2

Chill the Mixture

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours, or until thoroughly chilled.

3

Churn the Ice Cream

Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, typically about 20-25 minutes until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.

4

Freeze the Ice Cream

Transfer the churned ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm.

5

In a separate bowl, cream together the unsalted butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.

6

In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and a pinch of salt. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, stirring until just combined.

7

Gently fold the semi-sweet chocolate chips into the cookie dough until evenly distributed.

8

Once the ice cream is churned to a soft-serve consistency, add spoonfuls of the prepared cookie dough into the ice cream maker during the last few minutes of churning.

9

Transfer the cookie dough ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm.
