Method

Preparing the Broth

  1. 1

    Combine Broth Ingredients

In a large pot, combine the chicken broth, water, soy sauce, sriracha sauce, and sesame oil. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add Aromatics

Mince the garlic and ginger and add them to the broth. Let the broth simmer for about 10 minutes to infuse the flavors.

Cooking the Noodles and Vegetables

  1. 3

    Cook Ramen Noodles

Add the ramen noodles to the broth and cook according to package instructions, usually about 4 minutes.

  2. 4

    Add Vegetables

In the last minute of cooking, add the bok choy and shiitake mushrooms to the pot, stirring gently.

  3. 5

    Chop Green Onions

While the noodles are cooking, chop the green onions, separating the white and green parts for garnish.

Preparing the Pork and Egg

  1. 6

    Slice Cha-Shu Pork

Thinly slice the cha-shu pork and set aside.

  2. 7

    Boil Eggs

In a separate pot, gently place the eggs into boiling water and cook for 6-7 minutes for a soft-boiled effect. Once done, transfer them to ice water to cool, then peel.

Assembling the Ramen

  1. 8

    Serve the Ramen

In a bowl, place a serving of ramen noodles and broth, then top with bok choy, shiitake mushrooms, sliced cha-shu pork, and a halved soft-boiled egg.

  2. 9

    Add Garnishes

Garnish with chopped green onions, nori sheets, and sprinkle sesame seeds on top. Serve hot.
