Noodles and Broth

Method

Prepare the Noodles and Broth

  1. 1

    Cook the Noodles

Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the Lo-Mein noodles and cook according to package instructions (usually 4-5 minutes). Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Broth

In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a simmer. Stir in soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Allow the broth to simmer gently for about 5 minutes to combine the flavors.

Cook the Veggies

  1. 3

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a separate pan, heat a little oil over medium heat. Add the sliced bell pepper, julienned carrot, snap peas, and green onions. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp. Set aside.

Prepare the Protein Trio

  1. 4

    Marinate and Cook the Proteins

In a bowl, mix the sliced chicken breast, beef sirloin, and shrimp with cornstarch, salt, and black pepper. Heat a wok or a large skillet over high heat and add a tablespoon of oil. Add the proteins to the wok in batches, searing them for about 2-3 minutes until cooked through. Remove from heat and set aside.

Assemble the Dish

  1. 5

    Combine and Serve

In the pot with the simmering broth, add the cooked Lo-Mein noodles and sautéed vegetables. Stir well to combine and heat through for another 2-3 minutes. Serve hot in bowls topped with the seared chicken, beef, and shrimp.
