Wonton Stars
Crab Stuffing
Method
Preparation of Crab Stuffing
- 1
Mix the Ingredients
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the fresh crab meat, cream cheese, mayonnaise, chopped green onions, garlic powder, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated and the mixture is creamy.
Assembling Wonton Stars
- 2
Prepare Wonton Wrappers
Lay out the wonton wrappers on a clean, flat surface. You can use a star-shaped cookie cutter to cut each wrapper into star shapes, or leave them as squares.
- 3
Fill the Wrappers
Place about 1 tablespoon of the crab stuffing mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper. Be careful not to overfill.
- 4
Seal the Stars
Wet the edges of the wonton wrappers with a little water. Fold the wrappers over to form a star shape or triangle, pressing the edges together to seal securely.
Frying
- 5
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 6
Fry the Wontons
Carefully add the sealed wonton stars to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and drain on paper towels.
Serving
- 7
Plate and Serve
Arrange the crispy crab stars on a serving platter. Serve hot as an appetizer or snack.
